Brisbane’s REGURGITATOR started in 1994 and quickly established themselves as an articulate and witty purveyor of the Australian music scene – assembling mishmash of funk, punk, pop, electronics and any other style that stuck to the sides… with unmitigated irony and a geekish nature.
"The past few years have seen Regurgitator do some superfluous s**t. It’s all pretty interesting – the costume changes, the gimmicky record and release strategies, the full-album live sets – but tonight they achieved something far more pure. In straight power-trio formation (no spandex onsies, no heavy metal wigs), they performed what could well be the set of their careers. They’re a punk band at heart, and one of the finest this country has produced." BEAT MAGAZINE
Having embarked on the first Evening with Josh and Bob a decade ago this year, fans can expect a finely honed performance and a varied, reminiscent repertoire of knockout songs from two of Australia’s best. Bob Evans, the moniker for renowned frontman of Jebadiah Kevin Mitchell, enthuses, “That first Evening with Josh and Bob ten years ago was a fairly rudimental affair in retrospect. We were both very much still finding our feet. Now, we have higher professional standards to which we hold ourselves and those bawdy jokes of a burgeoning bromance have developed in to, well, bawdy dad jokes. Bah, who am I kidding? We're not that different ten years on.”
It’s been a huge couple of years for Josh and Bob, with Josh’s fifth studio album But For All These Shrinking Hearts dropping in 2015, and Bob’s new album Car Boot Sale coming out in June this year, both to widespread critical acclaim. The seasoned performers both set out on enormously successful solo tours over the last twelve months, but are thrilled to be coming back together for another jaunt around the country, as Josh Pyke says, “Ten years ago, I was working at a record store, had one song on the radio and was getting ready to record my first album. Next thing I knew I was organising a tour with a guy who (though I couldn’t tell him this) was a total hero of mine. Kev and I met, hung out, got drunk together and then set off on what was my first proper Australian tour. I learned a lot on that tour about how to do it right, how to perform, how to keep a relationship going back at home. I can’t wait to hit the road with Kev again, have some fun and play some songs!”
To Record Clubbers & Orchard Lovers...

Murphy brothers. What a year! KING GIZZARD & THE LIZARD WIZARD have been crushing it all over the world on their Nonagon Infinity album tour selling out nearly every show in Europe, US and Australia and owning major festival main stages the world over including our own Splendour in the Grass and Dark Mofo. For a band that always does things their own way on their own terms it is with great excitement that KING GIZZARD & THE LIZARD WIZARD announce the 2016 instalment of GIZZFEST.
It is an opportunity for the band to take a bunch of their mates on tour and bring their own very special kind of multi-act madness to big stages across the country. And not just any old friends – they are joined by co-headliners and psych wunderkinds POND (releasing new tunes and touring globally from September) plus international guests WHITE FENCE, MILD HIGH CLUB, DINNER, BOULEVARDSand some of their best Australian psych-garage-rock mates MURLOCS, STONEFIELD, ORB andJAALA appearing along the way.
Doing their own thing also allows them to keep the festival price reasonable, add extra benefits as they please and to make these fast moving parties with alternating bands so you do not have to miss anything on offer. These are the only summer headline shows for King Gizzard & the Lizard Wizard and then they get busy in 2017 with extensive global touring, four new album releases scheduled and other things even they haven’t thought of yet.
Darren Hart, better known as Harts, is a musician, singer-songwriter, multi-instrumentalist, composer and music producer from Melbourne. Often labelled as “A one man music making machine”, he writes everything, plays all the instruments, records and produces all his music singlehandedly in his bedroom studio.
Spending the past few years developing his sound, Harts has become known for his Jimi Hendrix-like guitar playing and unique blend of Funk, Pop, Rock and Soul music, which has earned him praise worldwide. Most notably from iconic music legend Prince, who flew Harts out to his Paisley Park Studios in Minneapolis, USA to meet and play with him in 2014 saying, “He reminds me of how I was at that age”.
After returning, Harts independently released his 10 track debut album ‘Daydreamer’ in September 2014. The album quickly gained positive coverage in many music publications such as Rolling Stone Magazine, NME, The Guardian, Herald Sun, Sydney Morning Herald, Vogue Magazine and many more.
Harts also recently took on triple j Like A Version, performing an impressive cover of Daniel Johns’ ‘Aerial Love’, and is also gearing up to play at this years Queenscliff Music Festival and NYE On The Hill.
The new EP, quite appropriately titled ‘Breakthrough’, was released on June 5 2015.

With two gold records and two ARIA Music Awards for Best Urban Album for The Life of Riley already under his belt, it’s no great secret that Drapht is a songwriting prodigy. Whether you focus on his lyrics, his melodic hooks (or focus on nothing at all and just enjoy yourself) as a songwriter Drapht can pretty much do everything. Each of his four subsequent albums – Pale Rider (2003), Who Am I (2005), Brothers Grimm (2008) and Life Of Riley(2010) – brought increasing levels of complexity and refinement, ascending Drapht to the absolute upper echelon of Australia’s stacked card of hip-hop heavyweights. Already, he is one of the greats.
Fifth album Seven Mirrors continues the upward incline of Drapht’s artistic output, showing off even more songwriting flair and linguistic dexterity than ever before. Piecing each song together with a myriad of rhythmical, melodic and lyrical hooks, Seven Mirrors puts Drapht’s arsenal of musical weapons in the hands of an amazing list of collaborators and guests – sometimes pairing with music royalty and other times introducing exciting new voices. Party anthem Mexico (featuring Dune Rats) is begging to be a single, Don Quixote (featuring Hilltop Hoods) feels destined to be a live favourite, while BAD blasts out of the speakers with the scorching voice of LA-based Nat Dunn, and Monsoon introduces Byron Bay’s smooth-toned Bradley Stone to the world.
A perfect blend of thoughtful introvert and entertaining extrovert, Drapht’s connection has always been his realness. When we look at Drapht we can see ourselves reflecting back. Seven Mirrors is a beautiful metaphor for this connection; an album that is as much for the writer as it is for his fans. Once again Drapht has stepped up and once again he is at the absolute top of the game. Welcome to Seven Mirrors…
